Planned Giving
Your giving legacy can make a generational impact
Since 1892, Grady has been there for all who walk through our doors. By making a planned gift in your will or trust, you ensure that we will continue to significantly impact lives in our community for generations to come.
Through thoughtful financial planning, you can take care of yourself and your loved ones while also supporting charitable organizations that have been meaningful to you during your lifetime.
Whatever your financial objectives, there are a variety of planned gift vehicles that will help ensure a brighter future for Grady and our community while also providing attractive income and estate tax savings.
Plan a Gift to Grady Health Foundation
Bequests
You can make a substantial contribution without reducing the assets available to you during your lifetime. For example, you can transfer a specific asset, such as stock or real estate. You can also leave a fixed dollar amount or a percentage of your estate to Grady. If you have already prepared your will, your attorney can easily include Grady as a beneficiary by adding a codicil.
Retirement Assets
There are both income tax and estate tax benefits to donating an IRA or other retirement funds. To make this tax-wise gift, simply contact your plan administrator to request a change-of-beneficiary form or log onto their website to update your beneficiaries.
Life Insurance
There are a variety of ways to use life insurance to make a donation. You can name Grady as a beneficiary, donate an existing policy, or buy a new policy to donate. Any benefits Grady receives from your insurance are excluded from your taxable estate.
Real Estate
Donations of real estate may include a personal residence, vacation home, apartment building, commercial property, or land. You may retain a life interest in your personal residence, gifting ownership to Grady after your lifetime.
Donor Advised Funds
If you currently have a donor advised fund, or if you plan to establish one in the future, please consider making provisions for said fund to continue supporting Grady beyond your lifetime.
When including Grady in your plans, please use the following:
Legal Name: THE GRADY HEALTH FOUNDATION, INC.
Incorporated in: Atlanta, Georgia
Federal Tax ID: 58-2130437
Gifts may be for general purposes or may be restricted. If restricted, please describe said restrictions and include the following: “The Board of Directors of the Grady Health Foundation, in its sole discretion, may modify the purposes of this gift if these purposes become obsolete, impractical or inconsistent with the mission of Grady Health System.”
