Grady Boosts Breast Cancer Screenings Thanks to Crucial Catch, ACS

When detected early, breast cancer can be successfully treated. The American Cancer Society, in partnership with the National Football League (NFL), awarded the Grady Breast Imaging Department a Crucial Catch grant to educate the public about the importance of cancer screening, early detection and risk reduction.

The Crucial Catch grant empowered Grady to make significant strides in addressing barriers to care and increasing access to life-saving breast imaging services. By leveraging data-driven outreach, providing transportation support and addressing life events that hinder appointment attendance, the Grady team enhanced its ability to connect with patients and improve health outcomes. As a result, Grady increased its breast cancer screening rate by 10%.

Moving forward, Grady remains committed to refining its strategies and ensuring equitable access to preventative breast care for all its patients.
